5 YEARS RUNNING EVERY DAY

5 YEARS OF RUNNING EVERY DAY

It’s been 5 years! Yes, 5 years or 1827 days since I first started my 5 KM per day running streak. There are moments I question why I keep going—yet pausing means losing all the progress I’ve made. So why stop while I still can?⁣

Here’s a video I created using Wondershare Filmora 14:

You may be asking why am I still doing this and the simple answer is PERSISTANCE, DEDICATION and HEALTH. I keep mentioning the same and it comes down to also having a healthy habit and maintaining it. I know I’m getting older and the body does wear out so I might as well take advantage of a perfectly good body now.

Over the past year, I’ve had the opportunity to run at different locations and if you check my YouTube account you will see it there in the I RUN EVERY DAY playlist:

I’m grateful I have shared my running journey with friends, strangers and even my kids. Most days, though, it’s just me out there, giving myself space to reflect or dive into podcasts and audiobooks or simply soaking in the beauty of nature.⁣
Sometimes I get asked how do you start running and let me break this down into these areas:

  • Set a goal – decide which days of the week and how many times you plan to run and how far you intend to run then simply! If you’re a beginner just start with 1-2 days a week and decide which days you will do the runs. Then until you feel comfortable with this frequency, increase it by 1 day.
  • You don’t any special gear or equipment – don’t spend hundreds of dollars buying running gear. Just start with the basics and get a good pair of running shoes and that’s it. If you already have shoes and since you’re starting off with maybe 1 – 2 km then you honestly don’t need good running shoes
  • Do it first thing in the morning if you can so that you will not only feel accomplished

Health is key! Hoping everyone is doing well out there. Keep pushing forward and let’s go!⁣
