Is it Chinese New Year and it’s a time to celebrate!! Why? Because it’s a tradition and it’s a good excuse to just eat, catch up with friends and family. More importantly, those who have certain beliefs can pay their respects to God, their ancestors and also pray for peace and harmony in their family. During this period, one of the main Chinese customs is to Bai Nian (拜年) which is to visit family, relatives and friends to wish them best wishes. So I visited my parents and in-laws again.

Work hard – had an interesting conversation today with an elderly man who is currently still working 7 days a week. He looks pretty fit for his age, you can tell he does a lot of physical work as his veins on his arms were clearly visible. The conversation was based on how people work hard to buy luxurious items like cars, go on holidays and in the end, they still have a large debt (their mortgage). We end up becoming a slave to our desires and if we don’t become content with what we have then we just end up chasing the materialistic items which won’t make us happy.
The other interesting thing he said, was that in 2020 something may happen.
