In a previous post “Configuring the Cisco ASA” I described how I configured the Cisco ASA and I mentioned about the Cisco AnyConnect client. The Cisco AnyConnect client has been working well but recently I noticed the profile hostname changed and it was not loading the correct server. It was getting annoying so I wanted to get to the bottom of it and change it to the correct one. It seemed like it wasn’t saving the last known profile.
After a bit of digging around, I found the file with the profile settings. The file was located in C:\ProgramData\Cisco\Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client\Profile\
and the filename is AnyConnect_client_profile.xml
Edit the file and update the HostName entry. Make sure you open the file with administrator rights the Save the file and then this should have fixed the problem. If it reverts back then what you can do it write a batch file to copy the file or set the permissions of the file AnyConnect_client_profile.xml to be READ ONLY.
Hopefully this has helped some of you if not leave me a comment and I’ll respond back.
