If you have a Samson Meteor microphone you probably have guessed by now that you can’t easily install it on a standard boom arm stand. For those who are planning to buy a Samson Meteor microphone then you need to be aware of this. Basically, at the bottom of the Samson Meteor microphone, there is a threaded hole for mounting a boom arm stand, however, the thread size is 5/8 inch (15.9mm).
Now, most boom arm stands have a thread of 3/8 inch (9.5mm) and therefore you won’t be able to easily just mount the Samsung Meteor microphone onto the boom arm stand.
You either need to replace the boom arm stand or you can get a thread adaptor. This is the adaptor that I purchased, which is a 3/8 inch to 5/8 inch adaptor.
The adaptor works perfectly and you can mount the Samson Meteor microphone to the boom arm stand:
