Today, I’ve reached another milestone in my running journey. It’s the 1000th day I’ve been running 5 KM per day – I haven’t missed a day and yes I’ve also been running in the rain! Running every day has become one of my daily habits and every day after the run I feel as though I accomplished something. I guess this discipline is the same as when soldiers make their beds when they wake up. Apparently, soldiers do this as a form of discipline and objective completion.
If you read one of my first posts, my original goal was to run for 30 days to see how my body feels at the end of the 30 days. You can read that post here: 5KM RUNS FOR 30 CONSECUTIVE DAYS
It’s very hard to compare the feeling at the end of the 30 days versus the 1000th day. I can say that my running pace has gone a bit slower over time and the main contributing factor to this would be just the overall goal of being able to sustain longevity versus trying to beat a particular time or main a certain speed.
I’ll keep this post short and all I can say is to never give up. Have the determination to achieve any goal you set in your mind and be persistent and consistent in everything that you do as one habit leads to many other good habits. I’ve also recently listened to the Atomic Habits audiobook and if you need some motivation or methods to create these good habits, then I recommend you read or listen to this book.
I also recorded this video just to remind myself of this milestone and I hope you watch it too. If it does give you some form of motivation, then please share it with others. All the best with your own journey in life and remember never to give up.
