If you try to pin more than 3 chats in WhatsApp you will receive the error message “You can only pin up to 3 chats”. I managed to find a way to bypass this limitation and pin more chats. I do find it strange that WhatsApp only allows you to pin 3 chats, which is very limited. I now pin 5 important chats that I regularly message in. 1 of the chats is for work whilst the other is with family. If you want to pin over 3 chats on WhatsApp follow these 5 steps. You need to follow these steps one by one and for the last few steps you need to do it very quickly – within (2-3 seconds).
Step 1
Select pinned chats
Step 2
Press the Archive button
Step 3
Select chat to pin
Step 4
Press Pin button
Step 5
Press the Undo button
If you’ve completed these steps without any problem you will see an increase in number of pinned chats.
ARCHIVED LIST
Since you have only a few seconds to complete Steps 4-5, you may archive the chats and if you do then you can go to the Archived list and Unarchive the chats.
This is the Archived list and the unarchive button is at the top
You can also follow this video which shows you how to pin more than 3 chats on WhatsApp.
