HOW TO USE THE PICTURE IN PICTURE FEATURE IN FIREFOX BROWSER

Have you used the picture-in-picture feature in the Firefox browser? This is a new feature that was released recently and I got a chance to play around with it and it’s pretty cool. Firstly, what you need to do if you haven’t done so already, is update your Firefox browser to the latest version. I’m using version 113.0.1 on my computer; this version has the picture and picture feature.

What you can do with the picture-in-picture feature is pop out the video window and play the videos as an overlay. You can drag and play the videos on your browser or position the video on another screen so you can watch your favourite videos online whilst doing other things. Chrome doesn’t have this feature unless you install a Chrome extension and I’m not sure when this feature will be available on Chrome.

With the picture and picture feature in Firefox, you can display multiple videos as well so you can technically watch 3 videos from different websites at the same time. I tested this with three pop-up videos and you can play them all at the same time as shown in this video:

This feature is great if you want to multitask, so if you want to listen to some audio or some videos all at the same time whilst you’re working then this feature is a must for you. For students who are doing their homework or studying (like using the Pomodoro timers) then you should also try this out as it’s a pretty great feature. What I like most about this feature is the popup window will always be on top of other windows and you can change the size of the popup window.
