CREDLY NO LONGER DISPLAYING MICROSOFT BADGES

I was waiting for a few days to see if my Microsoft Badge for passing the Azure Administrator Associate would appear and it never did. I have been using Credly to showcase my Microsoft and AWS badges but I just recently discovered Microsoft is no longer linking your passed certifications on Credly. Instead, Microsoft wants to use their new share feature and use a link to showcase your Microsoft certifications. I guess the reason for this is that you can then directly share this link on your LinkedIn profiles rather than using a Credly link. From a marketing perspective directly sharing your Microsoft certificate is more advantageous and doesn’t require you to do any further integrations.

Here’s some information from the Microsoft website:

On June 28, we introduced new certification sharing and verification features on the Microsoft Learn profile, providing learners with flexible options for viewing and sharing their Microsoft Certifications directly within Microsoft Learn.

After June 28, newly earned Microsoft Certifications are immediately viewable and shareable on your Learn profile and there is no longer a Credly claim process for most newly earned certifications**.

As of 9am, PST July 17th, the new Microsoft Learn certification sharing features are live for customers who earned their certification prior to June 28th. The “Share” button will now generate a link to a publicly shareable version of the learner’s certification rather than to a general description.

For me, it just means that my Credly badges are not up to date which means there’s no longer a need to promote my Credly badge list which kind of sucks as I wanted to quick way to showcase all my certifications and badges. I guess the plan now is to just use these shared links on LinkedIn and use LinkedIn as my certificate and badge repository. What are you planning to do?
