Let me share a small glimpse of Advertise Me’s journey for building Hospital wayfinding solutions with you and also why I created a website called Digital Wayfinding Solutions. I hope with this information, you too will be able to start your own entrepreneurial journey and build your own digital solution. If I can do it, so can you!
Advertise Me originally started as a digital signage company and at that time even the term digital signage didn’t exist. You can actually read this interview on how the company started but basically, the original idea was to use technology to replace static printed posters.
Advertise Me’s mission was to quickly and easily display advertisements and digital content at a specific location. This involved using a digital signage screen, media player and the Internet or local area network. One of the clients who used Advertise Me’s digital signage solution also requested to have a digital wayfinding for the hospital and after some research, we discovered there wasn’t a hospital wayfinding solution that met the client’s requirements. So we decided to build one from scratch which involved building a custom wayfinding kiosk and a digital wayfinding software as a result that’s how our digital wayfinding solution was born. After a few months of building the software and customising the hardware we were ready to roll out the solution and to this day the client is still using it!
After rolling out the first hospital, we were then referred to other district hospitals and we’ve also had this solution used in offices and education departments. You can look at the wayfinding portfolio here: DIGITAL WAYFINDING PROJECTS
The main reason why I created the website digitalwayfindingsolutions.com.au was to generate traffic leads and for SEO purposes. Having some experience building websites using WordPress, I created this website in just a few days. Yes, I even personally created the logo using one of the design tools listed here: TOOLS
I have previously talked about SEO in this article and I used the same principles on the digital wayfinding solutions website and it is currently ranked on the first page for various wayfinding keywords. The goal is that as I write more articles and content for the website, I should be able to rank for more keywords and in turn this should lead to more enquiries.
